SCROLL DOWN FOR UPCOMING AUCTIONS

Dear Kevin,

I have wanted to write to you for some time, ever
since the final close out of the auction of my
parent's estate.  As I promised some time ago, here is
my endorsement:

Kevin was so taken by the scope and quality of the
items in my parent's estate that he decided to
showcase their things in the grand opening of his
former auction house.  His knowledge of antiques is
stunning and quite impressive.  He was able to
identify a few items that a professional appraiser was
not able to identify the year before.

We worked together for several days inspecting and
cataloging items that would be up for sale.  Both he
and his crew worked very hard and carefully.  None of
the items were damaged in transit, and all were cared
for as if they were their own family heirlooms.

The auction itself was carefully planned.  All the
items were displayed tastefully and appropriately.  At
one point, four auctioneers were selling
simultaneously.  It was quite overwhelming for all,
but I have nothing but praise and the highest marks
for Kevin and all of his family and crew in preparing,
presenting, and auctioning my parent's precious
antiques.  I give him my highest recommendation.

Best personal regards,

David Guthrie (Upper Arlington Alumni)

DATELINE: COLUMBUS, OHIO-Sept. 17, 2001
Bigger is not always better, and Kevin Burchett proved this rule with a small auction featuring choice items from three Central Ohio estates...As we surveyed the display...before the start of the bidding, Burchett commented that he likes to arrange groupings of merchandise and his knack for attractive arrangements was apparent throughout the showroom...Quilts hanging on the walls created colorful backdrops for furniture. This sale included a small selection of fine furniture, such as a lovely Victorian walnut bed that sold for $205. With a matching vanity, a bed from the 1920s featured well preserved veneer. The set sold for $200...Dated 1953, a bank with Snoopy snoozing on his doghouse caused a flurry of bids, finally selling for $100...Dolls had also been found tucked away in the bottom of boxes in one of the estates and all found new homes at this sale...Kevin Burchett runs a good, lively sale, and his good-humored banter and eye for quality made his Thursday night sale a great break from the work week routine.

A SPECIAL PHONE CALL
The voice mail message in a ladies voice said, "Kevin, this is the office of (Former) President George Bush.  Mr. Bush has further questions regarding the email he received from the White House."
After a sleepless night, I eagerly called the number that was left and confirmed, that it was not a prank.
As it turns out, First Lady Laura Bush, was made aware of an auction I was having that included items from the Estate of the President's Great Uncle. The First Lady reviewed the list of items and photos right here at auctionFYI.com and notified her father-in-law, Former President George Bush, of certain items of possible interest to the George Bush Museum. After his review of the upcoming auction on auctionFYI.com, he had his secretary call with further questions.
I am often asked if the President left any absentee bids or purchased items by proxy at the auction...That would have made a better ending to the story. The fact is, he was hoping to find family photos, none of which were included in this auction.
I like to think that both generations of the Bush's have auctionFYI.com stored in their favorites on their home PCs, and I hope you will also keep auctionFYI.com on your favorites and check back often.
